These shoots are so entertaining and perfect for gatherings! They can be made into shooters, but they can also be made into a cocktail for savoring or a carafe for parties.
I also wished to include a few variations on the original white tea recipe because it is entertaining to experiment with new, tasty concoctions.
Therefore, you will find them at the end of this post (but before the recipe card).
Grab some shot glasses, and let’s begin the celebration!
WHAT IS A WHITE TEA SHOT?
The white tea shot is a delicious alcoholic beverage. It is famous shot women prefer because it tastes good and contains fewer calories than green tea. Shots are commonly served in pubs and college gatherings.
WHAT DO WHITE TEA SHOTS TASTE LIKE?
The peach schnapps imparts a sweet taste and peach flavor to the mellow flavor of these tea shooters. As a result of the lemon-lime soda and the sweet-and-acidic blend, there is also a trace of tart lemon-lime.
WHAT’S IN A WHITE TEA SHOT?
This white tea shot recipe calls for two alcoholic ingredients: vodka and peach schnapps. To add citrus flavor, a sweet and acidic mixture is applied. And for added acidity, a dash of lemon-lime seltzer is added.
DOES THIS SHOT HAVE TEA IN IT?
The authentic variant of this white tea concoction I prepared here contains no tea. It is an empty white tea shooter. However, tea is a constituent in some recipes. I’ve included some of these tea recipes in the list below.
WHY IS IT CALLED A WHITE TEA SHOT IF IT HAS NO TEA?
Let’s rewind a bit. Jameson named the original green tea shot “green tea shot” due to the drink’s green color. They were reminded of a cup of green tea by adding a sweet and acidic mixture, giving the shot a verdant hue even though the drink contained no genuine green tea.
The white tea shot is simply a variation of the green tea shot. Therefore, adding “tea” to its name directly results from the green tea shoot.
DO I NEED A COCKTAIL SHAKER?
This cocktail recipe requires a shaker, but it need not be a traditional cocktail shaker. I’ve only recently begun using an actual agitator. I have used screw-on lid Mason jars and other containers with lids.
Check out this Baby Yoda cocktail, for which I used a wooden utensil as a muddler and a Yeti tumbler with a lid (a paper towel concealed the opening, haha). No special equipment is required.
WHITE TEA SHOT VS. GREEN TEA SHOT
White and green tea shots are highly similar and contain nearly identical components. The only distinction is that the classic green tea shooter formulation calls for Jameson Irish Whiskey instead of vodka. Hence, it is sometimes referred to as a Jameson green tea shot. All of the remaining ingredients are identical.
RECIPE INGREDIENTS
This white tea shooter has equal vodka, schnapps, and bitter mix proportions. Here are the essential constituents.
- Vodka: Use your preferred vodka brand. We like Tito’s handcrafted vodka (no, this is not a paid endorsement). Since this is a shot, there is no need to use expensive vodka unless you are preparing a savoring cocktail. However, I do not recommend using flavored vodka, as you will want to experience the other ingredients.
- Peach Schnapps: Adds a hint of sweetness and floral flavor with peach schnapps.
- Sweet and Sour: This is a compilation available for purchase. However, I’ve included a recipe below if you wish to prepare it yourself.
- Lemon-Lime Soda: Use your preferred brand of lemon-lime soda or a citrus soda such as Squirt.
SUPPLIES NEEDED
- Cocktail Shaker
- Bar Strainer (if your cocktail shaker doesn’t have one)
- Jigger
- Shot Glasses
HOW TO MAKE WHITE TEA SHOT WITH VODKA
At most, five minutes are required to complete this picture, as described below. Instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this blog post.
- The cocktail shaker should be filled with ice.
- Incorporate the vodka, peach schnapps, and sweet and sour into the cocktail shaker.
- Shake it vigorously for 10 to 20 seconds.
- Strain into a shot glass three-quarters full, and fill the remainder with lemon-lime soda.
HOW TO MAKE IT INTO A WHITE TEA DRINK
This white tea shot can be transformed into a concoction that can be sipped rather than downed as a shot. It makes for a delicious summer concoction.
- Multiply each ingredient by two.
- The cocktail shaker should be filled with ice.
- Incorporate the vodka, peach schnapps, and sweet and sour into the cocktail shaker.
- Shake it vigorously for 10 to 20 seconds.
- Strain into a cocktail glass 3/4 full of ice, and fill the remainder with soda.
HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE SWEET & SOUR MIX
Using store-bought sweet and sour drink mix is an attractive option, which I typically use when making cocktails. However, if you prefer the homemade version, here is an excellent recipe. If you microwave lemons and limes for approximately ten seconds and then massage them with your hand, you will obtain significantly more liquid.
This sweet and acidic mix yields approximately 1 1/4 cups.
- 1 ounce ice water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about four limes)
- 1/4 cup pure lemon juice (about two lemons)
- In a medium-sized skillet, combine sugar and water. Over medium heat, bring to a simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Add the fresh lemon and lime juice next. Allow it to settle before use.
- The prepared sweet and sour mixture will last approximately one week in the refrigerator.

Use white peonies, silver needles, tea sachets, or loose tea for the finest white infusions.
LEMON WHITE TEA SHOT WITH TEQUILA
This variation on the original is prepared with tequila rather than vodka. An excellent blanco tequila is more accessible to drink than a gold tequila. This recipe yields two shot glasses.
- 1 oz white tequila (Blanco tequila)
- 1 oz peach schnapps
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- One lemon sliver is used as a garnish
- Ice is added to the cocktail shaker.
- Add 1 oz of tequila, schnapps, citrus, and nectar to the shaker.
- Shake for ten to twenty seconds.
- Pour the mixture into two 1.5-ounce shot glasses. Garnish with a wedge of lemon.
RECIPE TIPS & VARIATIONS
- Homemade sweet and vinegar condiment. Use homemade acidic mix rather than purchasing it. I provided the instructions above.
- Different constituents. Replace the sweet and acidic blend with a honey-lime syrup or fruit syrup. For a sweeter concoction, additional lemon-lime seltzer can be added.
- Different flavors. Try one of the other white tea shot variations.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is white tea?
China’s Fujian province harvests white tea leaves and blossoms from the Camellia sinensis plant for only a few weeks in early spring. It can only be considered white tea if harvested in this region.
Five varieties of white tea leaves exist Bai Mu Dan (White Peony), Yin Zhen Bai Hao (Silver Needle), Shou Mei (Noble, Long Life Eyebrow), Gongmei (Tribute Eyebrow), and Fujian New Craft (DaBaiCha or DaHoaCha). White Peony or Silver Needle tea leaves are of the utmost quality.
Do white tea shots taste like alcohol?
Due to the peach schnapps, seltzer, and acidic blend, this shot is not excessively alcoholic in flavor, but you will still feel some alcohol burn.
Is the white tea shot considered healthy?
Because this drink contains alcohol, I would not consider it healthful. However, recipes that contain genuine white tea may provide additional health benefits. White tea is believed to aid in weight loss by destroying adipose cells. It can also stimulate the metabolism. An individual white tea infusion contains approximately 130 calories.
Is the white tea shot expensive?
If you are curious about the cost of the white tea drink, it may be a bit expensive. These white tea shots at a bar will likely be around $10, though the price will differ from bar to bar.
How much alcohol is in a white tea shot?
There are two doses of liquor, and the sweet and sour blend I use also contains alcohol. The vodka contains 40% to 50% (80 proof to 100 proof) alcohol, while the peach schnapps contains 15% (30 proof) alcohol.
Does white tea shot have caffeine?
My variant of the injection does not contain any caffeine. However, if you use one of the tea recipes, the beverages may contain caffeine.
